Dr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, has debunked reports that he has picked one Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate for the 2023 general election. He set the record straight while speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday.
Following his nomination as the Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Dr. Obi had listed his campaign director-general, Dr. Doyin Okupe, as his acting vice presidential candidate.
Baba-Ahmed, a businessman from Kano in northern Nigeria, served in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. In April 2011, he was elected senator for Kaduna North in Kaduna State on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
