Enugu State Set to Showcase Rich Cultural Heritage at 2024 Olympic Games in France: The Enugu state government has expressed its intention to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage at the 2024

Olympic games in France, pending the necessary arrangements. Governor Peter Mbah, represented by Secretary to

the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia, made this known while receiving delegates from the Office of the Secretary

to the Government of the Federation. The delegation, led by Mr Musiliu Oladunjoye, Director of the International

Organisation Department, SGF office, and Mr George Nwabuze, National Coordinator and Director General of Made-in-Nigeria

Project office, Abuja, extended an invitation to the Atilogwu dance troupe to perform at the Olympic games’ opening ceremony.

The governor highlighted Enugu’s significant cultural and tourist attractions, including its historic role as the Eastern region’s headquarters,

various monumental structures, and peaceful environment. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to transforming

Enugu into one of Nigeria’s top three business and investment hubs, reducing poverty to zero, and growing the economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.

The delegation acknowledged Enugu’s cultural wealth and encouraged the state to partner with the SGF office to host the Buying Nigeria Expo and Economic Forum, showcasing its economic potential for business development. Additionally, the governor announced that Enugu youths will participate in the Toyota Automobile Training Programme in Japan, aligning with his administration’s goal of engaging youths meaningfully.
