According to a trending report, armed herdsmen have attacked and killed one Musa Monsuro, a farmer in the Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State.

People believed to be herdsmen reportedly butchered Monsuro on his cashew farm at Araromi village, Igboora, around 5pm on Monday, for no apparent reason. Residents of the area notified security agents and they have since retrieved the body from the farm and deposited it at the mortuary.

Confirming the incident, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, said “The case is undergoing investigation and that the public would be updated on the situation.

The killings by herdsmen have become common occurrence in Oyo State especially within the Ibarapa axis which prompted a Yoruba separatist agitator, Sunday Igboho to storm the area some months past and ordered all the Fulani herdsmen to vacate the area.
