A yet to be confirmed report has indicated that the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, is currently in a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Governor Tambuwal is one of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential aspirants for the 2023 general elections,  and many believe that the said meeting might be politically motivated.

Tambuwal’s meeting with Buhari on Tuesday, April 26, if true, is coming at a time aspirants are jostling to clinch their party’s ticket to run for the office of the President in 2023. Interestingly, Tambuwal belongs to the opposition party, PDP, while President Buhari is the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
