Enugu Govt Announces 2025 Scholarship Awards for Indigenes – Covering up to 1,600 Slots 

——-Says scholarship examination will be conducted as an online Computer-Based Test (CBT), allowing applicants to participate from any location.

 

The Enugu State Government has officially opened applications for the 2025 Scholarship Awards, offering over 1,600 opportunities to indigenes of the state across various academic levels.

 

The announcement was made through a Public Service Notice issued by the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board, operating under the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ndubueze L. Mbah.

 

The initiative was approved by His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, which underscores the administration’s commitment to investing in education and human capital development.

 

According to the notice, the scholarship categories include:

 

Undergraduate Scholarship: 500 slots for 100 and 200-level students in tertiary institutions within Nigeria.

 

Teachers Scholarship: 1,000 slots for indigenous teachers in Enugu State Government schools who wish to pursue Master’s degrees and are ready to serve in the state’s school system for at least 10 years after completion.

 

Postgraduate Scholarship: 100 slots for Master’s and PhD programmes in Nigerian universities.

 

Applicants must be indigenes of Enugu State with valid admission into recognized institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session. Required documents include LGA identification, admission letter, acceptance letter, attestation from the traditional ruler, and a passport photograph. Teachers are also required to provide their employment letters.

 

The application process begins on November 14, 2025, and closes by midnight on November 28, 2025, for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. However, teachers applications will remain open until December 8, 2025.

 

All applications must be submitted online via https://apply.esselb.en.gov.ng, with all required documents uploaded as a single PDF (not exceeding 2MB).

 

The notice further encourages visually impaired and physically challenged students in 100 and 200 levels to apply.

Prof. Mbah emphasized that only applicants who meet all requirements and submit complete documentation will be shortlisted, adding that applications will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

The statement concluded with appreciation to Governor Peter Mbah for his continuous investment in education, reaffirming that “Our Tomorrow is Here.”
