AI Is the Future: Isaac Onoyima Hails Ugo Ukwueze for Empowering Igbo-Eze South Youths Through Skills Training

—— Says Investing in young people today means investing in a brighter future for our communities

Spacial Assistant (SA) to the Chairman, Igbo-Eze South LGA, on Media, Isaac Onoyima, made this known while appearing on a programme “Youth Training Initiative on Ethical Artificial Intelligence Skills” on Freedom Square, Solid FM, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.

Onoyima, reaffirmed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) remains one of the world’s most influential emerging technologies, capable of reshaping economies and transforming career opportunities for young people.

Speaking on the programme on Solid FM, Onoyima praised the rapid global growth of AI and urged Nigerian youths to embrace digital skills to stay competitive in a technology-driven future.

According to him, “ we categorize Artificial Intelligence as an emerging technology to me , even though my understanding of A.I, I believe also that it is no longer in the future, we are bringing it to present . A lot of young people do all sort of things with A.I . The way the question lies is not only about acquiring that skill, knowing about A.I, the manipulations you can do with A.I. The question is, are you doing what you are suppose to do with it. Are you using the skills you have acquired in the right way you are suppose to use it. That is why we say it is ethical Artificial Intelligence. We are making sure that you don’t just learn it but also use it for the purposes it is meant for.”

He commended Rt. Hon. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze for organizing and supporting skills development programmes for youths across Igbo-Eze South and Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

He described Ukwueze’s initiative as timely and visionary, noting that empowering young people with practical skills is essential for economic growth and community advancement.

The training programmes are equipping young people with tools that can open doors to innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment especially as AI and digital technologies continue to dominate global industries, he stated.

Onoyima therefore, encouraged more leaders to prioritize youth empowerment saying, With the rise of Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies, these trainings are not just helpful they are necessary.
