Police in Anambra State have arrested a 32-year-old woman, Ogechi Ofoma, for allegedly burning her seven-year-old daughter with a hot knife.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Nnewi area of the state, after the woman allegedly subjected the child to the cruel act.

Following the incident, the police commenced an investigation and arrested the suspect.

The child was rescued and taken to a medical facility for treatment, while the suspect was taken into custody for questioning.

The police are expected to conduct further investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse and determine the appropriate legal action.
