Enugu CP Honors 92 Newly-Promoted Officers, Urges Increased Commitment

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu, recently decorated 92 senior officers who were promoted within the state command. The officers, who had been elevated by the Police Service Commission, included 20 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), 18 Superintendents of Police (SP), and 54 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP).

During the decoration ceremony held on Thursday in Enugu, the CP congratulated the newly-promoted officers, urging them to approach their new roles with greater diligence and responsibility. He emphasized that their promotion should be seen as an opportunity for deeper commitment and a higher level of professionalism in their duties. Uzuegbu also encouraged them to use the promotion as a driving force for improved performance and efficiency.

Members of the Command’s Management team, including DCP Olasoji Akinbayo (Operations), DCP Adebowale Lawal (State CID), and ACP Hope Isiani-Okereke (Department of Finance and Administration), also congratulated the officers. They collectively advised the newly-promoted personnel to remain committed, uphold professionalism, and embody the integrity expected of their new ranks.

In a response on behalf of the promoted officers, CSP Chidozie Okebugwu expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, for recommending their promotion, and to the Police Service Commission for approving it. Okebugwu, who also serves as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Abakaliki Road Division, thanked the Commissioner and his management team for their support, assuring that the officers would uphold the trust placed in them and strive to exceed expectations in their new roles. Family members, friends, and associates of the promoted officers also attended the ceremony.
