Governor Mbah to Complete University of Education in Ihe, Awgu – Dr. Chukwunweike

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike , has stated that the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah will complete and kickstart the University of Education, located in Ihe, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Speaking as a guest during the Freedom Square radio show on Solid 100.9 FM Enugu over the weekend, Dr. Chukwunweike mentioned that part of the items on the Governor’s recent “to-do” list includes the completion of the University of Education in Ihe, as well as the Games Village in Awgu.

He explained that the delay is due to some legislative work that needs to be finalized before the university can begin, as the previous administration was unable to complete the process. He also added that part of his responsibility is to keep reminding the Governor should he, for any reason, forget about it.

“When they were listing the things that are going to be done, the University of Education in Ihe was part of what the Governor mentioned, along with the Games Village in Awgu. All those things have been included in the current plans. He mentioned it, although I can’t remember exactly when, but he did. If it tends to be forgotten, we’ll keep reminding him. He has it in mind. They mentioned something about the law establishing it, but I don’t think they were able to finalize it. So, it’s now in the House Assembly. The Governor has now said that the law should be properly completed so it can be started.”
