Akpabio Applauds Tinubu for Establishing New Institutions in South-East, Urges Ndigbo to Embrace Renewed Hope Agenda

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has extended commendation to President Bola Tinubu for signing into law three significant education-related bills aimed at enhancing the educational and healthcare landscape in the South-East region. The newly signed laws establish the Federal College of Education in Bende, Abia State; the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Item Bende, Abia State; and the Federal University in Okigwe, Imo State.

Akpabio also praised the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, for sponsoring two of the bills, as well as other notable Senate members including Deputy Whip Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Deputy Minority Whip Senator Osita Ngwu, and Senator Patrick Ndubueze, the main sponsor of one of the bills. He lauded them for their effective representation, leadership, and dedication to improving the well-being of their constituents.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio acknowledged the collaborative efforts of stakeholders in both legislative chambers, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.

According to the Senate President, the establishment of these institutions represents a major step toward enhancing educational standards, expanding research capacity, and improving healthcare outcomes across the South-East. He stressed that these developments not only signal progress but also address historical grievances related to socio-economic exclusion and underdevelopment in the region.

Akpabio commended President Tinubu for what he described as inclusive and compassionate leadership, highlighting the President’s willingness to bridge divides and foster national unity. He noted that the establishment of these institutions will significantly help in reducing longstanding feelings of neglect and marginalization in the region.

He called on the people of the South-East, particularly the Igbo community, to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration and seize the opportunity for strategic engagement and collaboration. Akpabio assured that continued regional support for President Tinubu would yield more developmental benefits and deepen democratic dividends in the South-East.
