Buy Now, Pay Later: Enugu Marketing Company Pushes Consumer-Friendly Initiative

Special Adviser on Agriculture to Governor and Chief Executive Officer/General Manager of Enugu Marketing Company, Michael Ogbuekwe, disclosed that Enugu State Marketing Company, as part of the disruptive innovation policy of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, Enugu State workers can buy products from the Company and pay at the end of the month. Mr Ogbuekwe stated this while appearing on a programme, Beyond the Headlines, on Freedom Square Tv, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.

 

Ogbuekwe emphasized that the initiative is designed to give people access to essential goods and services without the immediate pressure of full payment.

 

He noted that the system is structured in a way that promotes affordability, trust, and financial inclusion, while also stimulating local trade.

 

According to him, “Buy Now, Pay Later helps in financial management, as families manage their finances better but also boosts sales for local businesses, thereby driving economic activity in Enugu State.”

 

He further assured that strict monitoring measures are in place to ensure accountability and prevent abuse of the scheme.

 

Ogbuekwe , therefore, concluded that the initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the Enugu Marketing Company to improve consumer welfare, expand access to basic needs, and contribute to the broader economic growth of the state.
