——- Says both leaders share a common vision for the advancement of Anambra and the South-East region.
A Public Affairs Analyst, Emeka Odom, made this known while speaking on the topic “Anambra Governorship Election: A Postscript,” on the programme, Beyond the Headlines on Freedom Square TV, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.
Odom, called on the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to collaborate with the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, for the progress and development of the state.
He noted that political differences should not hinder meaningful partnerships aimed at improving governance and people’s welfare.
According to him, “yes this is politics, but quite frankly in your first tenure, for me I think this whole idea of bickering between you and one of your predecessors, Peter Obi. Quite frankly it is unnecessary because both of you are big shoots, both of you are very successful sons of Anambra State. If you ask me there should be more of collaboration and not to outdo each other. Yes you have gotten a second tenure now and hopefully by God’s grace you will complete 8 years just like he did, and it will only be to the credit of Anambra. You are there now , pay less attention in discrediting him. Concentrate in building Anambra. Those things that you couldn’t do in your first tenure, pls do them so that by the time you leave office, you become a reference point.
Continuing, remember, you are a professor of economics and just like Obi used to say that he is a trader and you are a professor of economics. I think that should reflect in everything else. Congratulations once again sir and continue on the good work you are doing, and let Anambra be far far better than you met it. That is th whole mark of leadership sir.”
He commended the achievements of both men in public service, describing them as visionary leaders with the capacity to transform the state if they work together.
Odom therefore urged political leaders in the region to embrace unity and synergy rather than rivalry, stressing that the time had come for Anambra to set an example in collaborative leadership for the rest of the country.
