Court Orders Cubana Chief Priest to Forfeit ₦10m for Naira Abuse and Engage in Sensitization Campaigns: A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered Cubana Chief Priest, a celebrity bartender and businessman, to

pay a fine of ₦10 million to the Federal Government for allegedly abusing the Naira. This decision was made

after Cubana Chief Priest and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reached an out-of-court

settlement agreement, which was adopted by the trial judge, Justice Kehinde Ogundare.

According to the terms of the settlement, Cubana Chief Priest will forfeit the sum of ₦10 million to the Federal Government,

enter into a bond to be of good behavior, and engage in sensitization campaigns against the abuse of coins and notes

issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). He will also post videos on his social media handles bi-monthly, promoting

the importance of handling the Naira with respect.

The EFCC had charged Cubana Chief Priest with allegedly abusing the Naira, but the parties reached a settlement agreement,

which was commended by the defendant’s counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu. The court adopted the terms of the settlement and struck out the charge.
