CUPP Slams Tinubu’s Government Over Fuel Scarcity, Prioritizing Personal Gains

The CUPP has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its handling of the fuel scarcity crisis in the country. The opposition coalition alleges that the government’s incompetence has been exposed, and its failure to address the issue has led to widespread suffering among Nigerians. The CUPP spokesperson, Comrade Mark Adebayo, accused the government of intentionally exacerbating the fuel scarcity to justify increasing fuel prices, which would further worsen the economic situation.

The coalition claims that the government has not provided a reasonable explanation for the persistent fuel scarcity and has no solutions to the problems it has created. They describe the government as being run by a “cabal of incompetent, unpatriotic, and rapacious power cultists” who prioritize their own interests over the welfare of Nigerians.

The CUPP also demands that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) explain the cause of its alleged debt of over nine trillion naira to fuel suppliers, which has led to threats of fuel supply disruptions. The coalition warns that a worsening fuel scarcity could lead to increased insecurity, economic meltdown, and social crises.

The statement further criticizes President Tinubu and his administration for being “clueless” and “incompetent,” with their policies exacerbating the crises they have created. The CUPP concludes that the Tinubu administration has failed Nigerians and that there is no possibility of reversing their poor record in office. They allege that President Tinubu was unprepared for governance and only sought the presidency for personal gain.
