Dangote Refinery Slashes Fuel Price to N739/Litre, Rolls Out Nationwide PMS Sales

—— Says others should join this effort as a show of support for Nigeria’s economic recovery.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at a pump price of N739 per litre, a move expected to bring significant relief to motorists and households across Nigeria.

The refinery announced that the product is now available at all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations nationwide, marking a major milestone in its drive to stabilise the downstream petroleum sector and make fuel more affordable for Nigerians.

With over 2,000 MRS stations spread across the country, the new pricing is projected to have an immediate and far-reaching impact on consumers, especially during the festive season when fuel demand typically spikes.

In a statement, Dangote Refinery commended marketers who have already implemented the revised pump price, describing their actions as patriotic and supportive of national economic recovery.

We commend MRS and other marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by reflecting the reduced price at the pump.

The refinery disclosed that it is guaranteeing a daily supply of 50 million litres, a measure aimed at preventing scarcity and ensuring steady availability of PMS nationwide.

Industry analysts note that large-scale local refining will significantly reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported fuel, conserve foreign exchange, stabilise the naira, and shield the economy from global oil market volatility while strengthening national energy security.

However, the company warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply to undermine the recent price reduction.

It urged regulatory authorities to remain vigilant and take decisive action against such practices.

“Any attempt to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply to frustrate recent price reductions is unpatriotic and unacceptable. We urge regulatory authorities to take firm action, especially during this critical festive period,” the refinery stated.

The nationwide rollout of PMS at N739 per litre is widely seen as a timely intervention that could ease transportation costs and boost economic activities across the country.
