The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State has in an intensely contested election on Sunday, May 29th, elected her flag bearer for the 2023 Enugu Gubernatorial election.
In the election that had about five hundred and fifty five delegates, the Former Minister of Information, Mr. Frank Nweke jnr emerged winner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Governorship primary election held in Enugu State.
Chief Uchenna Okagbue, who doubles as the Chairman of the Electoral Committee and the deputy national chairman of APGA, announced that Mr. Nweke polled 273 votes, to defeat his closest rival Jeff Nnamani, who amassed 267 votes which is 6 votes away from that of Mr Nweke.
The APGA Guber race had the likes of Mr Ude Donatus who scored 2 votes, Mr. Ozoemena Obi Donatus who polled 3 votes, and Nwegbo Uchenna who polled 9 votes.
Mr. Nweke in his acceptance speech has assured that APGA will form the next government in Enugu State come 2023. According to him, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been in control of the state since the inception of the present democratic dispensation in 1999 and that APGA will rewrite the history in Enugu State.
He finally urged APGA faithfuls to redouble their efforts to ensure victory for the party come 2023.
