A Public Affairs Analyst and member, Guild of Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, Emeka Odom made this known while speaking on a topic “ Enugu’s Disruptive Transition from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) : A Periscopic Analysis,” on Freedom Square, a programme on Solid FM, 100.9, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.
Odom, stated that the advocacy machinery within Enugu State is keen on effectively communicating to the grassroots the reasons behind Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Odom, noted that the government’s outreach and information structures should be strengthened, to ensure that rural communities and local opinion leaders are well-informed, explaining why Governor Mbah’s defection to the APC is in the best interest of Enugu people.
According to him, “ your Excellency the Governor, please institute a very serious advocacy machinery that will penetrate the nooks and crannies of Enugu State to preach the reason why the Governor moved to All Progressives Congress (APC). I am happy that he has already told us that the innovations and developments are not going to stop and that the things we are seeing in terms of development, we will see more.”
He stated that Governor Mbah’s move is strategic and development-oriented, aimed at deepening Enugu State’s integration with the Federal Government for greater access to national projects, funding, and infrastructural opportunities.
He further emphasized that clarity and inclusion are essential in sustaining public trust, adding that political transitions of this magnitude require open communication to avoid misinformation and speculation
