FOSAD condemns the gruesome murder of Abia State University final year student: The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) condemns the horrifying act of violence that resulted in the tragic death
of a final year student identified as Emma Kesh at Abia State University on March 11, 2024.
The student, whose future held great promise, was ruthlessly murdered by cultists, shocking
the entire academic community and beyond.
As an organization dedicated to the advancement of education and the well-being of the South
East geopolitical zone, FOSAD expresses profound sorrow and outrage over this senseless loss of life.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the victim during this
incredibly difficult time.
Cult-related violence has no place in our society, let alone within the confines of educational
institutions where young minds are meant to flourish and thrive. The heinous nature of this crime
underscores the urgent need for decisive action to root out and eradicate the scourge of cultism from our campuses.

FOSAD calls on the relevant authorities, including law enforcement agencies and university
administrations, to prioritize the safety and security of students and faculty members. It is imperative
that swift and thorough investigations are conducted to ensure that those responsible
for this despicable act are swiftly brought to justice.
Furthermore, FOSAD urges for the implementation of robust measures to prevent future
occurrences of such violence, including the establishment of comprehensive anti-cultism programs and the promotion of a culture of peace and tolerance within academic environments.
In solidarity with the Abia State University community, FOSAD stands united in its commitment
to safeguarding the sanctity of education and preserving the lives of all students. Together, we must
work tirelessly to create a safer and more conducive learning environment for all.
