Report has it that the Minister of Interior, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola, has stated that the Fulanis were not the people responsible for the recent attack on the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, neither are they an enemy to the country.

However, there are strong indications, including eyewitnesses’ accounts, that the perpetrators of the Owo Church killings where scores of worshipers,including women and children were massacred in cold blood, were indeed Fulani herdsmen. Security agents have not confirmed this, though.

Aregbesola said that the government would launch a manhunt in order to get the perpetrators of the attack. He urged Nigerians not to blame the deadly attack on the Fulanis. According to him, the people behind the attack want to cause chaos between different tribes.
