LONDON- The mood was heavy with sorrow as mourners gathered to reflect the deep sense of loss caused by the untimely deaths of Ghami and Ayodele.
Funeral (Janazah) prayers were held on Sunday at the London Central Mosque in honour of Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, close associates of British heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua, who both lost their lives in a fatal car crash in Ogun State, Nigeria.
The prayers attracted a large turnout of mourners drawn from the Nigerian and British communities, alongside friends and acquaintances who assembled to pay their final respects to the departed.
The atmosphere at the mosque underscored the widespread grief surrounding the sudden passing of the two men.
Ghami and Ayodele were killed in a road accident on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Ogun State.

Anthony Joshua and his companions were travelling through Makun, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, when the crash occurred. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the SUV conveying the boxer collided with a stationary truck parked on the road.
While Joshua reportedly sustained only minor injuries, Ghami and Ayodele died instantly at the scene of the accident.
Speaking on the incident, Adedamola Joshua, an uncle of the boxer, described the profound shock and emotional trauma the family has been dealing with since the tragic loss of two of Joshua’s close friends.
He explained that the family did not first learn about the accident through social media, but rather received the devastating news later via a phone call. Adedamola recounted how details of the incident eventually emerged and expressed concerns over emergency response, the behaviour of bystanders at accident scenes, and broader issues of road safety in Nigeria.
According to him, the tragedy has deeply affected the family, particularly as Joshua had arrived in Nigeria only a few hours earlier and was en route to Sagamu to spend time with relatives.
The incident came just days after Joshua secured a victory over Jake Paul in a highly publicised heavyweight bout dubbed “Judgment Day,” held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, United States.
