The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday appointed Senator Abdullahi Gobir (Sokoto East) as the new Senate Leader.

The appointment was made public in a letter by the National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, which was read at plenary by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.

Gobir replaced Senator

Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North) was the Senate Leader until he resigned following his defection from APC to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
