N44.1 million for 294 Enugu State indigenes currently studying at the Nigerian Law School: Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah,

has approved bursaries totaling N44.1 million for 294 Enugu State indigenes currently studying at the Nigerian Law School across

seven campuses nationwide. This significant support is part of the government’s efforts to enhance human capital development in the state.

Out of the 294 beneficiaries from the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, 284 students have been verified and have each

received N150,000. This financial aid is designed to support their educational pursuits and alleviate some of the economic challenges they face.

N44.1 million for 294 Enugu State indigenes currently studying at the Nigerian Law School: Additional Scholarships

In addition to the law school bursaries, Governor Mbah has awarded a scholarship of N12 million to Miss Chidiogo Igwebuike, an

indigene of Ukana, Udi LGA, Enugu State. This scholarship will enable her to train as a pilot at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Beneficiaries’ Appreciation

The beneficiaries, represented by the National Association of Enugu State Law Students, expressed their gratitude for the governor’s

timely intervention. They highlighted the financial relief these bursaries provide, allowing them to focus on their studies and practical

training without undue financial stress.

In a letter signed by the National President, Stephen Obiora; the National Secretary, Johnpaul Obisike; and the National Public Relations

Officer, Uzoamaka Aguoma, the students praised Governor Mbah’s vision and commitment to educational development.

“This bursary has come at the right time to alleviate the financial challenges the entire country is facing, giving us room to focus on

our court and chamber attachments without too much worry about the current state of the economy.

Continued Support for Aspiring Pilots

In a related initiative, Governor Mbah has also provided N12 million for Miss Chidiogo Igwebuike, a 24-year-old graduate of Enugu State

University of Science and Technology (ESUT), to pursue a Standard Pilot Course at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria.

Previously, in May 2024, the governor awarded a scholarship of N23.3 million to Master Israel Echezona, a 17-year-old from

Mgbagbu-Owa, Enugu State. Echezona, who was the overall best candidate in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology entrance examination, will also be training as a pilot.

The investment

Governor Mbah’s initiative to disburse N44.1 million in bursaries to Enugu Law School students and award substantial

scholarships to aspiring pilots underscores his commitment to educational excellence and youth empowerment.

These financial supports are pivotal in helping students focus on their studies and professional training, thereby
