Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Sacks Two Aides for Misconduct, Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance for Corruption

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has dismissed two of his Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) after they were found guilty of misconduct by separate investigative committees.

The first SSA was sacked for his part in securing the bail of an alleged drug trafficker, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu. This action follows the recent resignation of the State Commissioner for Transportation, Ibrahim Namadi, who was also implicated in the same case. The second SSA was fired for diverting palliative grains intended for vulnerable citizens within the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Farouk, who announced the dismissals, stated that Governor Yusuf’s administration is committed to maintaining **transparency, discipline, and a zero-tolerance policy for corruption**. The statement also served as a warning to all public officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity in both their professional and personal lives. The public was advised not to engage with the two sacked officials on any government-related matters.

In a related development, a third official, Musa Ado Tsamiya, the Special Adviser on Drainage, was cleared of all allegations against him by an investigative committee, and his innocence was affirmed. The governor’s swift action in both punishing the guilty and exonerating the innocent demonstrates his commitment to accountability and ethical governance.
