There has been a massive protest at the Adoration Ministry grounds on Sunday following a directive by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu prohibiting its members from attending services conducted there by Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka till further notice.
The Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, Callistus V. C. Onaga, had in an open letter to the faithful, said the reason for the ban is because some of the teachings and utterances of Fr. Mbaka at the Catholic Adoration Ministry are not consistent with the teachings and faith of the Catholic Church.
Fr. Mbaka has been in the news lately for allegedly calling the Labor Party Presidential candidate, Dr. Peter Obi, out as a “stingy” person who would never succeed in his bid to become President of the country.
Although the clergyman has reportedly apologized to the presidential candidate, the dust raised by the whole affair is yet to settle. For now, worshipers at the Adoration Ministry are saying that “Bishop Onaga must go” for authorizing the ban.
