Olabode George Urges Atiku and Wike to Exit PDP Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

In a strongly worded statement, Olabode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to immediately exit the party. According to George, their continued involvement in activities perceived as aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC) constitutes serious anti-party conduct that undermines the values and unity of the PDP. He expressed concern over their growing affinity with members of the opposition, which he sees as a clear betrayal of the party’s interests and a source of public embarrassment.

George criticized recent political moves by both Atiku and Wike, including Atiku’s visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari and Wike’s open collaboration with President Bola Tinubu regarding electoral matters in the FCT. He questioned the loyalty of both men, asserting that their actions directly conflict with the core principles of the PDP and called for immediate disciplinary actions from the party leadership.

Beyond internal party issues, George also proposed economic reforms, urging President Tinubu to establish a special intervention fund. He recommended that the managing directors of Nigerian banks contribute at least ₦20 billion annually to support the economically disadvantaged. George criticized what he described as the extravagant lifestyle of bank executives, suggesting it reflects deeper issues of financial mismanagement and exploitation.

On the broader national scene, he decried the rising levels of insecurity and corruption, accusing the Tinubu administration of failing to effectively address these crises. He argued that Nigeria, once a leader in African stability and development, now struggles with governance failures at home. George concluded by urging party elders and national stakeholders to take firm action to save the PDP and restore the country’s standing, both domestically and internationally.
