…Says Enugu Airline, Smart Schools, International Conference Centre Are Game-Changers
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Amb. Justina Ezeh, has described Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as a leader with a deep understanding of the political landscape in the state and one who is dedicated to rectifying historical issues while laying a solid foundation for the state’s future growth.
Amb. Ezeh made this known on Saturday during the Freedom Square radio programme on Solid 100.9 FM Enugu, hosted by Uchenna Cyril Anioke, PhD.
She praised Peter Mbah for his transformative leadership and unwavering commitment to the people of Enugu State.
She stated that Governor Mbah stands out as a disciplined leader who has set a high standard for governance, emphasizing values of integrity and discipline.
She commended Mbah for his approach to leadership, which she believes is designed to instill discipline among the people of Enugu in both conduct and economy; adding that under Governor Mbah’s leadership, Enugu has seen a shift towards more organized and structured development, ultimately creating a more prosperous future for its citizens.
According to her, “Governor Mbah has not only focused on addressing the state’s infrastructural needs, but also on cultivating a culture of discipline and responsible governance.
“It took only two years to shape Enugu people to know that they should not jump traffic. He doesn’t talk much; what he is doing is talking. He is laying a structure that will benefit Enugu State from generation to generations and generations yet unborn.”
Ambassador Justina Eze, who was a founding member of PDP, Board of Trustees PDP member, a member of Enugu State Council of Elders, Nigerian diplomat, and former member of House of Representatives for Uzo Uwani, seized the opportunity to praise Governor Mbah’s administration for its transformative approach to governance.
She also praised Governor Mbah’s achievement in deep education, which she said is gradually shaping the future of the state.
“As an educationist, Mbah has focused on ensuring that education is not just a privilege for the rich but a right for all. His efforts in setting up computerized education systems in all 260 wards of Enugu State in the form of Smart Schools is the first in the country and one which will stand the test of time. It is a crucial move to bridge the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged, thus creating a level playing field for all students across the state. These initiatives will lay a foundation for literacy and learning for generations to come, ensuring that no child is left behind.”
The political leader also posited that the newly launched Enugu Airline by Governor Mbah is a significant milestone towards promoting the drive to create jobs and empower the local economy, as it will not only make the state more accessible but would also generate vast employment opportunities and empowerment.
“The governor’s vision is clear, with inclusion of job creation and financial empowerment that will thrive within the next two years, and there will no longer be any segregation in opportunities. This project is a game-changer for the state’s economic future.”
Speaking on the conferment of Governor Mbah as the “Man of the Year” by a series of notable newspapers in Nigeria, Ambassador Eze opined that it was a well-deserved honour, attributing the recognition to the governor’s consistent track record of delivering on his promises; while also enumerating his commitment to matching his words with actions, which she also said was a key factor that will always earn him praises.
“He is a talk-and-do man. His work speaks for him and Enugu is rated second in the country. The conferment of the title ‘Man of the Year’ was given to Gov. Mbah because they saw the work he was doing. Our Governor’s achievement threatens other governors. He is not only making us happy but proud. I can stand anywhere in Nigeria to say, ‘I am proud of my son.’ He came to the stage prepared, and what he is doing in two years got me confused. The size of a man does not matter but the brain, training, the character, the discipline, and zeal. He remains ‘Okwute ndi Igbo’ as far as PDP is concerned.”
While praising Governor Mbah’s achievements, Eze also took a moment to address the citizens of Enugu, urging them to understand the importance of taxation in sustaining industrialization and development. She explained that taxation is a critical part of the government’s ability to fund projects and services. She reassured the people that once the investments start yielding returns, the government would look into reducing taxes and fees, particularly in areas like Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) training.
“Everywhere in the world, without taxation, government cannot function effectively.” She enjoined the people of Enugu to exercise patience with the governor as he is working hard to set up gigantic projects that will generate more revenue like the Enugu Airline, and this will in turn lead to deduction in tax and fees for SME projects in Enugu State.
Ambassador Eze also expressed her optimism for Enugu’s future under Governor Mbah’s leadership. She also emphasized that the governor is highly intentional about the people he appoints to work with him, ensuring that his team is composed of disciplined and hardworking individuals who mirror his dedication to the state’s development, citing Engr. Jude, the Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, as an exemplary leader who follows the footprint of the Governor.
