Senator Nenadi Usman; Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Datti Baba-Ahmed;

and Dr. Tanko Yunusa, National Coordinator of the Obidients Movement, accompanied Peter Obi on a condolence and solidarity trip.

Obi shared details of the visit on his Facebook page, explaining that they met

with the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, and His Highness,

the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba Al Amin El-Kanemi.

The purpose of the visit was to express sympathy and support for the people of Borno, who have been heavily affected by recent floods that claimed numerous lives and caused extensive damage to properties.

During their time in Borno, the group visited various locations to assess

the situation firsthand. They went to the Bank of the North spare parts market,

where traders had lost their goods, and an Internally Displaced Persons

(IDP) camp located at Government College, where thousands of people have sought refuge.

They also met with a woman who tragically lost her newborn twins in the flood.

with plans to provide ongoing assistance to help the people of Borno rebuild and recover.

In his message, Obi reassured the people of Borno that they are not alone during this difficult time.

He expressed deep sympathy for the families affected by the floods, which have

displaced thousands and submerged much of Maiduguri, and he praised the

efforts of the state government in responding to the crisis. Obi also prayed for

the souls of those who lost their lives and for the swift recovery of the state and its people.
