Police launch Manhunt for killers of 17 year old Student Habeebah Akinsanya:The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the abductors and killers
of 17-year-old Habeebah Akinsanya, a secondary school student
who was kidnapped on Friday and found dead on Sunday. The police
clarified that Habeebah’s father, Mr. Akinsanya Aremu, paid
N30,000 to the abductors, not N1 million as initially reported,
in an attempt to track and arrest the perpetrators. The payment was made into a Moniepoint account provided by the kidnappers.
According to the Divisional Police Officer of Kemta Division, CSP Olawale Famobuwa, the father reported Habeebah missing on Friday, stating that she had been helping her sister with a Point of Sale business and had not been found. He later reported that the kidnappers had contacted the sister and demanded money, leading to the payment of N30,000.

The police tracked the payment to the Oke Egunya community, where they searched for the perpetrators until 1 am on Sunday. Unfortunately, Habeebah’s corpse was later found at her father’s farm in Mile 6, with evidence of rape and murder.
A resident of the community reported seeing a farm worker,
who is now a prime suspect, entering the bush with Habeebah but not returning with her.
Another witness, a 15-year-old boy, reported seeing the farm
worker running suspiciously with firewood on his head. The police regret that the father, a senior officer in the So Safe security agency, did not share this vital information with the police earlier.
The police are working to apprehend all those involved in the crime and bring them to justice. Habeebah was a student of Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta, and would have turned 17 in October. Her death is a tragic loss, and the police are committed to ensuring that those responsible face the consequences of their actions.
