Professor Ogbuoshi’s Inaugural Lecture: A Resounding Success at ESUT

Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) witnessed a momentous occasion as Professor Ogbuoshi delivered his inaugural lecture on “Communication Innovation Paradigm In The Digital Age: Saboteurs Shaping Psychology Security In Nigeria.”

The Lecture

Professor Ogbuoshi’s presentation was a masterclass in communication, offering potential solutions to societal problems and sparking important conversations about the future of education at ESUT.

Dr. Chidiebere Ezinwa’s Remarks

Dr. Chidiebere Ezinwa, Head of the Mass Communication Department, hailed the lecture as “current, innovative, and quite enriching.” He emphasized the importance of communication in all aspects of life, noting that it is even considered a core aspect of existence in spiritual realms. Dr. Ezinwa also stressed that many of the challenges we face as a society stem from a lack of effective communication. He pointed out how our clothing choices communicate messages and expressed hope that the university management will seriously consider Professor Ogbuoshi’s proposal to make “Introduction to Mass Communication” a mandatory course for all first-year students.

Dr. Maxwell Ngene’s Remarks

Dr. Maxwell Ngene, a colleague of Professor Ogbuoshi, praised his research and writing skills, describing him as a “top-notch” expert in communication. Dr. Ngene highlighted Professor Ogbuoshi’s impressive academic achievements, noting that he has published an astounding 136 works. He also commended the Mass Communication students for their dedication to their studies and their work on the ESUT MONITOR Newspaper, encouraging them to continue honing their skills.

Barrister Dr. Dennis Ochiaka’s Remarks

Barrister Dr. Dennis Ochiaka, a lecturer from the faculty of management sciences, revealed that he was a classmate of Professor Ogbuoshi in a theological seminary. He remembered Professor Ogbuoshi as a very intelligent individual and found the lecture incredibly engaging. Dr. Ochiaka was particularly intrigued by the concept of “extra mundane communication,” which made him wonder about the possibility of communicating with ancestors.

Professor Chris Ogar’s Remarks

Professor Chris Ogar, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, described Professor Ogbuoshi as being completely “on point” and tackling important current issues with expertise. Professor Ogar proposed making inaugural lectures less frequent, suggesting that they be held once every two months. This, he argued, would help restore the specialness of the event and enable the university to manage its financial resources more effectively.

Conclusion

Professor Ogbuoshi’s inaugural lecture was a resounding success, sparking important conversations and celebrating academic excellence. It was a day of pride and inspiration for the entire university community, and a testament to the power of effective communication.
