President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining economic reforms aimed at improving citizens’ prosperity, stressing that inclusion, empowerment, and human capital development remain central to his governance agenda.
Speaking during a one-day official visit to Adamawa State, the President expressed satisfaction that ongoing reforms were already delivering positive outcomes across the country, particularly in education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Tinubu praised the state governor, Umaru Fintiri, for what he described as exemplary leadership and effective use of federal allocations to drive development.
“That is the consequence of us working together. We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves and strengthen the future of our people,” the President said.
He highlighted improved cooperation between the federal and state governments as a key driver of macroeconomic progress, noting that stronger revenue flows had enabled states to execute projects with direct impact on citizens’ livelihoods.
Commending recent developments in Adamawa, Tinubu pointed to major road expansions, an eight-lane highway with an underpass to ease traffic and boost commerce, as well as newly built educational institutions and a modern high court complex to strengthen the justice system.
“You’re reflecting a true government of the people, by the people and for the people. I’ve seen remarkable commitment to the education of our children and the renewal of infrastructure across the state,” he added.
The President also urged state governments nationwide to intensify efforts in poverty reduction, particularly by improving the quality of education for young Nigerians.
Tinubu further praised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for what he described as courageous and results-driven leadership in tackling insecurity. “With you, we will defeat bandits and terrorists. You are honest, bold, and deeply committed to the task,” he said.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri thanked the President for visiting the state to commission key projects, including 21 model schools across local government areas valued at N24.8 billion, major road expansions costing N15.6 billion, a remodelled High Court Complex worth N5.5 billion, and a newly constructed Government House office complex valued at N6.3 billion.
He reaffirmed Adamawa’s support for the President’s economic reforms, describing them as critical to Nigeria’s long-term stability and growth. The high-profile event attracted several governors, including Agbu Keffas, Babagana Zulum, Caleb Muftwang, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, and Mai Mala Buni, alongside ministers and top government officials.
The visit underscored the federal government’s push to align economic reforms with visible development projects, as Tinubu continues to press for nationwide prosperity through policy consistency and strong collaboration with state leaders.
