Tinubu Celebrates Mahama’s Inauguration, Vows Nigerian Support for Ghana

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to John Mahama on his inauguration as Ghana’s president, affirming Nigeria’s commitment to supporting Ghana. Mahama’s swearing-in on Tuesday in Accra marked his return to office after serving as Ghana’s president from 2012 to 2017. Tinubu, who attended the event alongside other world leaders, highlighted his close friendship with Mahama, pledging to collaborate with him for the benefit of both nations.

Mahama’s victory in the recent election saw him defeat Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with over 50% of the votes, enabling his comeback to power. Tinubu described this outcome as a significant milestone for African democracy, emphasizing the growing strength of democratic institutions on the continent. He noted that Mahama’s return to leadership underscores Ghana and Africa’s ability to achieve democratic progress and development.

Tinubu called on critics of Africa to acknowledge the strides made by nations like Ghana and Nigeria, asserting that the continent has nothing to prove to outsiders. He lauded Mahama as a visionary leader and expressed hopes that his administration would bring success and prosperity to Ghana and the broader West African region.
