Labor Party’s Presidential candidate, Dr. Peter Obi, has said that the country is one while reacting to the recentincident of his pictures being spotted on Islamic prayer mats.

Pictures of Dr. Obi on Islamic prayer mats used widely around the world by Muslims to pray five times a day, have gone viral on social media in the past few day.

In his reaction to the incident via his Twitter handle, Dr. Obi stated as follows:

“The inclusion of my picture on the praying mat by a support group was misguided, even with the best intention. It didn’t emanate from my campaign team.

“I have deep respect for the Muslim faith and indeed, for every other religion.

“We will never mock any faith, ethnicity or gender. We are one Nigeria”
