2027 ELECTIONS: ATIKU URGES NIGERIANS TO GET PVCs, PROMISES ECONOMIC RELIEF

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising economic relief and improved security if given the opportunity to lead the country.

Atiku, who is a leading opposition figure, made the appeal amid growing concerns over the rising cost of living, economic hardship and insecurity affecting many Nigerians.

The former vice president expressed concern over the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens, particularly families struggling to meet their daily needs, including food, transportation, housing and other essential expenses.

He also highlighted the security challenges confronting the country, noting that incidents of kidnapping and attacks have continued to raise concerns among citizens about their safety and that of their loved ones.

According to Atiku, Nigerians deserve a country where citizens can go about their daily activities without fear, while families should be able to afford basic necessities without facing overwhelming financial pressure.

He criticised the economic situation under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that the hardship experienced by many Nigerians requires urgent attention and a change in direction.

Atiku further called on eligible Nigerians to ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the electoral process ahead of the 2027 elections.

He stressed the importance of voting as a democratic tool through which citizens can express their opinions, hold political leaders accountable and determine the future direction of the country.

The former vice president also urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to take an active interest in the nation’s political affairs rather than remain indifferent to decisions that could affect their future.

He maintained that the country needs leadership capable of addressing economic challenges, strengthening security and creating an environment where citizens can pursue their ambitions and improve their standard of living.

The appeal comes as political activities and discussions surrounding the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum, with political leaders seeking public support and presenting their plans for the country.

However, Nigerians will ultimately have the opportunity to make their choices at the ballot box when the elections are held.

As preparations for the next general elections continue, Atiku’s message places renewed emphasis on voter participation and the role of the Permanent Voter Card in the democratic process.

For now, the call remains clear: Nigerians who are eligible to vote are being encouraged to get their PVCs ready as the country looks ahead to the 2027 general elections.
