2027: Over 600 Northern Lecturers Endorse Tinubu for Second Term

More than 600 senior academics drawn from public universities across Northern Nigeria have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was the major highlight of a meeting convened by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari, for academics to deliberate on Nigeria’s political future.

The lecturers reportedly expressed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, signalling growing political mobilisation for the President ahead of the 2027 election.

The meeting provided a platform for the academics to discuss developments in the country and assess the political direction of Nigeria as preparations for the next general election intensify.

The endorsement comes amid increasing political activities across the country, with different groups and stakeholders declaring their positions ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.

Tinubu, who is seeking a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has continued to receive endorsements from various groups and organisations in recent weeks.

The latest declaration by the Northern academics adds to the growing list of endorsements backing the President’s bid to retain the presidency beyond 2027.
