The Ebe Worldwide Platform (EWP), the global association of indigenes from the Ebe community in Enugu State, has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his successful hosting of the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference, while also using the opportunity to make a heartfelt appeal for long-overdue road infrastructure in their community.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Jude Akubuilo, the group praised Governor Mbah for elevating Enugu State’s profile both nationally and internationally through the NBA conference. The event, they noted, not only brought prestige to the state but also showcased the governor’s strides in governance, security, and infrastructure development. According to the EWP, Enugu is once again living up to its name as the “Star of the East.”
However, the group drew attention to the persistent neglect of the Ebe community, particularly the lack of a motorable access road—a promise that has been repeatedly made and broken by past administrations since 1999. Despite being surrounded by towns like Eke, Abor, and Ukana that enjoy quality roads, Ebe remains cut off, causing serious hardship for its largely agrarian population. Farmers, the EWP noted, struggle to transport their produce to markets due to the poor state of the roads, thereby limiting economic growth and opportunities.
The association expressed hope that Governor Mbah, known for equitable development across the state, will extend his transformational governance to Ebe by including the community’s road in the ongoing rural infrastructure projects.
“We are optimistic that a governor who has demonstrated fairness and a passion for inclusive growth will not forget Ebe,” Dr. Akubuilo stated.
The EWP concluded with prayers for continued strength and wisdom for the governor as he leads Enugu State toward a brighter future.
