Member, Special Committee on Bursary and Scholarship, Igbo-Eze South LGA, Prince Ekene Eze, made this known while appearing on a programme “Youth Training Initiative on Ethical Artificial Intelligence Skills” on Freedom Square, Solid FM, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.
Ekene Eze called on the youths of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area to channel their growing interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) toward productive and positive ventures.
He warned against the temptation to misuse technological skills for harmful activities, noting that negative applications of AI can damage lives and hinder the development of society. Instead, he encouraged young people to focus on solutions that enhance learning, entrepreneurship, and community growth.
He extended heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, Rt.Hon Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze for sponsoring and supporting the skills acquisition initiative slated to begin by 9th to 18th December, 2025 as this will equip young people with AI and other digital competencies.
He described the commitment as a testament to his dedication to youth empowerment and the progress of Igbo-Eze South.
According to him, “A.I should be used for positive purposes not negative purposes. Youths that are into hacking, hacking people’s account, generating codes and doing all sorts of things is as a result of A.I. Our people are new to A.I and they started on the negative side. You can tell them that they can use A.I for content creation. A lot of opportunities abound especially in this content creation. Acquiring A.I through content creation can make someone be a millionaire. You can build a career in A.I. You can use A.I to write stories, develop Apps. These are the things that they going to teach them and unlock a very impact programme. A.I is better to be used in a positive way than negative way.”
He therefore emphasized that embracing AI for positive purposes will not only uplift individuals but also position Igbo-Eze South as a hub for innovation in Enugu State and beyond.
