Tinubu Mourns Kano Business Leader, Condemns Brutal Killing of Woman, Six Children

—— Says his influence and contributions to commerce extended far beyond Kano State, touching many parts of Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of prominent Kano businessman and national trade union leader, Alhaji (Dr) Bature Abdulaziz, describing his passing as a major loss to Nigeria’s commercial sector.

Dr Abdulaziz, who died over the weekend in Kano, was the National President of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria and a respected figure within the country’s business community.

In a condolence message, President Tinubu noted that the late business mogul played a key role in advancing trade and economic cooperation, while also promoting peace and unity across the country. He recalled the support he received from Dr Abdulaziz during the 2023 presidential campaign, as well as his consistent advocacy for national cohesion through the Patriotic Elders Network for Peace (PENP), which he founded.

The President commiserated with the Kano business community, the family of the deceased, and the Kano State Government, urging them to take solace in the legacy of service and patriotism left behind by the late trader-leader.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu also strongly condemned the gruesome murder of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Chiranci community of Kano State.

Describing the act as barbaric and inhumane, the President expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Kano over the tragic incident. He commended the Nigeria Police Force for the swift arrest of the principal suspects and directed security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of those responsible.

President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that perpetrators of violent crimes would be brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.
