IRGC Claims Missile Strike on Netanyahu’s Office as Iran–Israel Conflict Escalates

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Monday that it had launched missile strikes aimed at key Israeli figures, including the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the residence of Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar. The statement, released through its official outlet, Sepah News, described the operation as a “precise and surprise” attack executed with domestically manufactured Kheibar ballistic missiles.

According to the IRGC, the Kheibar missile system—first unveiled and test-fired in May 2023—has a reported range of up to 2,000 kilometers and can carry a warhead weighing approximately 1,500 kilograms. The Guard Corps emphasized that the missiles used in the operation were part of Iran’s indigenous military technology.

The statement further claimed that the condition or whereabouts of Prime Minister Netanyahu remain unclear, adding that more information would be disclosed at a later time.

The development follows intense escalation over the weekend. On Saturday morning, coordinated airstrikes reportedly carried out by U.S. and Israeli forces struck Tehran and several other Iranian cities. The attacks were said to have resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, members of his family, senior military officials, and civilians.

In retaliation, Iran launched multiple waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory and U.S. military installations across the Middle East.
