Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet, Replaces Finance and Housing Ministers

President Bola Tinubu has carried out a limited reshuffle of his cabinet, making changes within the Federal Executive Council.

In a memo issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, it was announced that two ministers, Wale Edun and Ahmed Dangiwa, will exit their positions, with replacements already appointed.

Edun, who previously served as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has been instructed to transfer responsibilities to Taiwo Oyedele, who now assumes the role after serving as minister of state in the same ministry.

In the housing sector, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as the incoming minister for Housing and Urban Development, while Dangiwa has been directed to hand over to the current minister of state.

The directive specifies that all transition processes must be concluded by April 23, 2026.

Akume explained that the adjustments are intended to enhance coordination within the government and improve the effectiveness of economic policies under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He added that the president acted within the constitutional powers granted under Sections 147 and 148 of the 1999 Constitution.

Tinubu also expressed appreciation to the outgoing ministers for their service and wished them well, while assuring that efforts to strengthen his cabinet and governance structure will continue.
