Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District and 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the district, Senator Ikeje Asogwa, has called for massive support for APC candidates in the forthcoming local government elections in Enugu State and the 2027 general elections.

Senator Asogwa also disclosed plans to organise a ₦2 billion mega empowerment programme for constituents of Enugu North Senatorial District in December, describing human empowerment as his major priority as a senator.

He made the remarks at the APC campaign flag-off ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Enugu State, held at Ogbede, headquarters of Igbo-Etiti LGA, and Nsukka Stadium, Nsukka LGA, where he canvassed support for the party’s candidates.

According to him, the ₦2 billion empowerment programme, scheduled for December 12—his sixth month in office—will be a major intervention aimed at improving the economic wellbeing of constituents across the six local government areas of Enugu North Senatorial District.

He said the initiative would make him the first senator in the South-East, if not Nigeria, to undertake such a large-scale empowerment programme within the first six months in office.

Senator Asogwa urged APC supporters and constituents to vote massively for the party’s candidates in the local government elections and sustain the support for APC in the 2027 general elections.

The events were attended by the Enugu State APC Chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, members of the state executive committee, political leaders, party faithful and other stakeholders from the two local government areas.
