Enugu State out going Governor, RT Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has successfully constructed a state-of-the-art Banquet Hall

In a bid to reinvigorate Enugu’s leading status as the historic capital of the South East geo-political zone of Nigeria, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has successfully constructed a 600-seat state-of-the-art Banquet Hall with basement offices, meeting rooms, and retaining walls, among other facilities within the premises of the remodelled Old Government Lodge, GRA, Enugu.

The newly constructed Banquet Hall has played host to the Imeobi meeting of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, where governors of the South East states are currently holding a meeting. The successful completion of this project has further positioned Enugu as a hub for socio-economic and political activities in the South East region.

 

Other completed facilities within the premises include a remodeled Old Government Lodge with a newly constructed annex, 10 units of Executive Guest Houses, and 24 units of Guest Flats with a Dining Hall, providing comfortable accommodations for routine guests of the state government. Additionally, a standard Lawn Tennis Court has been fitted with a pavilion for spectators and lighting facilities, providing an excellent platform for physical exercise.

 

Several dignitaries are in attendance at the meeting, including Governor Ugwuanyi, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Barr. Kelechi Igwe, Imo State Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku, his Abia State counterpart, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, Enugu State Governor-elect, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, former Governors of Imo and Anambra states, Chief Ikedi Ohakim and Mr. Peter Obi, who is the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party. Other notable personalities present include members of the National Assembly, Ministers, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief Adolphus Wabara, and former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo.

 

Governor Ugwuanyi’s vision for the project has been realized, providing world-class facilities that will further enhance Enugu’s position as a leading state in the South East region. The successful completion of this project will also create a positive impact on the state’s socio-economic and political activities, attracting both local and international investors.
