Hilda Baci, a young Nigerian chef, is currently attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon. Hilda, who owns a food brand called “My Food by Hilda,” began her marathon cooking on Thursday and has been cooking for over 64 hours, with 32 hours left to break the record.
She is cooking round the clock for four days straight without sleep, and with only a five-minute break per hour. She is standing the entire time and is not allowed to consume coffee or energy drinks to boost her energy, but is allowed to eat food, drink water, fruit juice, and take glucose.
The cooking is taking place at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria, and all meals cooked are being shared for free to the people at the venue. Hilda is cooking different meals simultaneously and is at liberty to cook any meal she likes.
The current holder of the title she seeks to break is an Indian chef Lata Tandon, who set a Guinness World Record for cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes non-stop in 2019. Hilda aims to break the record by cooking for 96 hours, using an extra nine hours to set a new world record.
Despite her obvious exhaustion, Hilda has cooked over 110 meals and served over 2,795 people, maintaining the excellence her brand is synonymous with.
She has been receiving tremendous support from notable celebrities and thousands of Nigerians who are present at the venue of the cook-a-thon and following live events closely via social media.
Hilda’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record has been nothing but awe-inspiring to Nigerians and women around the world, who have been cheering her on to break the record.
Hilda’s sponsors provided most of the food items, ingredients, utensils, and other necessary items for the project.
Uber, one of her partners, is offering a 40% discounted ride to the venue for people who wish to join and cheer her up. Hilda’s mother is also a chef who owns a food brand called “Calabar Pot.”
Hilda’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record is not just about setting a new world record; it is a testament to her commitment to excellence, hard work, and perseverance.
Her dedication to the project, despite obvious exhaustion, is a reminder to everyone that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
Hilda Baci’s marathon cooking is an inspiration to Nigerians and the world at large. It is a celebration of the talent and tenacity of young African women who are breaking barriers and pushing boundaries.
As Hilda pushes herself to break the Guinness World Record, she is also breaking stereotypes and inspiring a new generation of young girls who look up to her as a role model. We are rooting for her to achieve her goal and break the record, and we hope that her achievement will inspire many more people to follow in her footsteps.
