The former Senate President and presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Anyim, has declared that it is the people’s vote and not the Aso Rock cabal that will determine who the next President of Nigeria will be.
Former Senate President Anyim made the assertion on Sunday as a guest on an interactive radio program.
When asked by a caller how he intends to deal with the cabal in the presidency who may frustrate his chances of emerging president in 2023.
He said:
“Maybe you still have the impression that it is Aso Rock that will ordain who the next president will be. I do not share that view. “I think with the new Electoral Act, people have more confidence that their votes will count.”
He however added that he would run for the office of the President and emerge victorious. In his words:
“Whether cabal or no cabal, I am going to give my first shot at the presidency and I will win.”
