APC Embraces Technology for Membership Drive, Upholds “Equal Founder, Equal Joiner” Principle – Dr. Ben Nwoye

—— Says the digital approach will eliminate bottlenecks associated with manual registration while ensuring accurate documentation of party members.

Chairman, Enugu State Caretaker Committee, All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ben Nwoye made this known on Wednesday,17th December, 2025, while speaking on the topic “ Refocusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State and Matters Arising.” on the programme, Beyond the Headlines on Freedom Square TV, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.

Nwoye stated that All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its membership registration process through the use of modern technology, reaffirming its commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and internal democracy.

He emphasized that the party’s technology driven registration initiative is designed to make membership accessible, transparent, and efficient for Nigerians across all regions.

According to him, “the leverage we are having is that we are teaching people how to do e-registration. There are so many people who want the card. APC has gone smart in terms of technology. We are no longer doing card registration. We have hundreds and thousands of people who want to register and we have to open up the space. It is not going to be about us following a guy around and he will bring the ward register and ward card to give us a card and we pay the person money, all those things they did in the days of the other party. We can’t do that, or when we decide this person cannot join and label that person,no, It is automated. As of today, we are training 5 people from each of the 17 local governments on an e-registration platform. By Saturday and Friday, we are going to repeat more numbers in all the 260 wards. We count how many polling units we have in each of the wards. Some wards have little like 9 polling units, some up to 29 polling units. We pull those people out because our registration is at the polling unit base. So we are looking at 2027, we are preparing.”

Nwoye stressed that the APC remains guided by the principle of “equal founder, equal joiner,” noting that no member enjoys special privileges based on when they joined the party.

He explained that all members, whether founding or newly registered, are entitled to equal rights, opportunities, and recognition within the party structure.

“It is not about one big man in APC, I am looking at everybody being equal, the eyes not now in the eyes of the law but in the eyes of the votes. Whether you are a superstakeholder who is a dynaso in APC or Aboorigin as they call themselves. Our law is clear, APC is equal founder, equal joiner,” he stated.

He described the move as part of the APC’s broader efforts to strengthen internal cohesion, promote unity, and position the party as a modern political organization responsive to contemporary realities.

He therefore expressed confidence that the adoption of technology and the reaffirmation of equality among members would boost confidence in the party, attract more Nigerians, and deepen democratic participation within the APC.
