Be a Bridge Builder, Not a Divider – Dr. Obasi Tells Governor Soludo

——-Says true leadership is not about winning elections alone, but about bringing everyone together.

A Public Affairs Analyst and Secretary, Guild of Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, Dr. Chikezie Obasi, made this known while speaking on a topic “A Review of Anambra Governorship Election,” on the programme, Beyond the Headlines on Freedom Square TV, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.

Obasi, urged Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, to extend the hand of fellowship to his political opponents in the interest of unity, peace, and progress in the state.

Dr. Obasi emphasized that leadership after elections should focus on reconciliation and collective development rather than political bitterness.

According to him, “first thing is to reach out to the opponents, have a dinner with them and ask them to come onboard. Each and everyone of them was interested in making Anambra great . Each of them has some blueprints in the back of their minds and see if he can actually tap from them and reduce the unnecessary cost of going to court.”

He noted that the people of Anambra stand to benefit more when political leaders collaborate, share ideas, and work towards a common vision for the state’s advancement.

He therefore emphasized that history remembers leaders who unite, not those who isolate, noting that extending the hand of fellowship to opponents is a mark of statesmanship.
