Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has officially left the All Progressives Congress for the African Democratic Congress.
The announcement was made on Thursday during plenary at the House of Representatives, where Speaker Abbas Tajudeen read out the letters of defection submitted by the lawmakers.
According to the Speaker, Bello El-Rufai moved to the ADC together with two lawmakers from Kaduna State who were formerly members of the Peoples Democratic Party — Umar Ajilo and Suleiman Yahaya Richifa.
The House also recorded the defection of Kamilu Ado from Kano State, who left the ADC to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
In a similar development, Joshua Obika resigned from the APC and also joined the NDC.
The lawmakers attributed their decisions to persistent internal disputes, instability and uncertainty within their former political parties.
