Character, Personality Define Governor Mbah- Not Political Party, Says Emeka Odom

——— Says voters and civic groups should focus on the governor’s record and capacity to deliver on promises.

A Public Affairs Analyst and member, Guild of Public Affairs Analysts of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, Emeka Odom made this known while speaking on a topic “ Enugu’s Disruptive Transition from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) : A Periscopic Analysis,” on Freedom Square, a programme on Solid FM, 100.9, anchored by Uchenna Cyril Anioke.

Emeka Odom stated that Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s leadership should be judged by his character and personality rather than the political party he recently joined.

Odom stated that the essence of Governor Mbah’s appeal to the electorate and political stakeholders lies in his personal attributes, his competence, vision and conduct and not merely in the party platform he now represents.

According to him, “ for me I have seen him as a leader. When you have someone as your leader, there are decisions that you will take which you may not see at that point in time. The benefits of that decision at that point in time, and what you owe him is loyalty, if is still your leader and for me, the Enugu State Governor is a leader of repute and he has demonstrated that over time.”

Odom’s comments came amid wide public debate following Governor Mbah’s defection to a new political party, an event that has sparked discussion among political analysts and civic groups about the long-term implications for governance in Enugu State.

Odom therefore stated that while party labels matter for political alignment, they should not overshadow the personal qualities that drive effective governance.
