Despite Gridlock, Solid FM Boss, Dr. Francis Edemobi Leads Team on Condolence Visit to Sir Uchenna Cyril Anioke

——–Says no obstacle, not even the citywide traffic gridlock, was strong enough to hinder such a gesture of humanity.

The Managing Director of Solid FM, Dr. Francis Edemobi, on Thursday, 13th November, 2025 defied heavy gridlock in Enugu to lead a delegation on a condolence visit to Sir Uchenna Cyril Anioke at his Enugu residence.

Dr. Edemobi, accompanied by Solid FM Marketing Manager, Mr. Onyechi Okechukwu, and Programs Manager, Lilian Ezinwa, arrived the home of Sir Anioke to commiserate with him and his family over their recent bereavement.

The visit equally drew other prominent personalities, including Mazi Uche Anichukwu, Media Aide to the Governor of Enugu State.

Also in attendance, were respected public affairs analysts: Dr. Ambrose Igboke, Prof. Chinwike Ubah, Dr. Chikezie Obasi, Dr. Chukwudi Anyianuka, Mr Umeh Clinton ( Journalist 101), and Emeka Odom who joined Sir Anioke to welcome the Solid FM Team. They also offered words of comfort and solidarity.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Edemobi further emphasized the importance of standing with friends and associates in their moments of grief.

In his words , “let me start by thanking the host for his dedication and constant appearance every Saturday on Freedom Square programme on Solid FM. He equally sympathised with him on the loss of his sister, stating that his absence at the burial was not intentional. On behalf of the Solid FM family, I came to extend our condolences to your family and also tell you that I totally forgot, even though that you sent the burial flier on time, but truly I forgot.

Secondly, I am now afraid of going outside Enugu, you know I was kidnapped in 2008 and this made me not to be going outside Enugu except I have security operatives with me. Even my last visit to my village, Nanka which is 2hours away was probably 10 months ago on a well armed security operatives, because I don’t want stories to be told to my children. I am sure a lot of you talk about it on your saturday programme, concerning insecurity. So we came to say sorry and that we feel for you on the loss of your sister and that God knows the best,” he concluded.

Sir Anioke expressed deep appreciation for the show of support, describing the visit as a heartfelt demonstration of friendship, unity, and shared compassion.

In his words, “ i thank you, MD, Solid FM and Uche Anichukwu, Media Aide to the Governor, for coming even at the expense of the gridlock that gripped Enugu.

I also wish to thank the public affairs team. They are a like family. I see them as my left and right arms because I cannot move without them. I lost my sister to the cold hands of death but I thank God for everything.”

The condolence gathering ended with prayers for the Anioke family and renewed calls for continued strengthening bonds of unity and partnership between the Public Affairs team and the Solid FM family, especially in challenging times.
