Elon Musk Reportedly Interested in Buying Liverpool FC, Reveals Family Ties to the City

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur behind Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), is reportedly interested in purchasing Liverpool Football Club, according to his father, Errol Musk. While no formal negotiations have been confirmed, Errol revealed during a Times Radio interview that his son has a personal connection to the city of Liverpool and a desire to acquire the historic Premier League club.

Errol Musk highlighted the family’s ties to Liverpool, noting that Musk’s grandmother, Cora Amelia Robinson, was born in Mossley Hill in 1923 before emigrating to South Africa in 1944. He described her as a strong, resilient figure who significantly influenced Musk’s upbringing. Additionally, the family had connections to members of The Beatles, further deepening their association with Liverpool’s cultural legacy.

Although Errol Musk stopped short of confirming official talks, he cautiously remarked that Elon “would like to” buy Liverpool FC. This potential move would mark Musk’s entry into the world of English football, adding to his extensive portfolio of ventures across technology, space exploration, and social media.

Elon Musk’s interest in the club reflects his admiration for Liverpool’s history and legacy. His fascination with his grandmother’s Liverpool roots has been well-documented, and he credits her with shaping his values. However, whether this admiration translates into an official bid remains uncertain. If realized, such a move would further solidify Musk’s influence across diverse industries and potentially shake up the ownership landscape in Premier League football.
