Enugu 2027: Anioma Highlights Agriculture, Education, Tourism, Roads in Mbah’s Re-election Bid

ENUGU: The Special Adviser (Political) to the Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Frank Anioma (Ezesinachi), has outlined the central message the Peter Mbah campaign will take to voters as it seeks a second term in office.

Hon. Anioma spoke on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, as guest on Political Conversations, a programme hosted by Dr Uchenna Cyril Anioke on Freedom Square TV.

He said the campaign would ask residents to look around their wards, where, according to him, the governor’s achievements are “littered everywhere.”

Agriculture
Anioma said the administration had distributed fertiliser and other farm inputs free to farmers. He added that more than 15 greenhouse farms now supply vegetables sold in markets and department stores, which he described as a move towards food sufficiency in the state.

Education
On education, he said pupils in the state’s smart schools receive free uniforms, sandals and books, plus one free meal each school day. He said schools not yet ready would soon open, and described the policy as an effort to change the state’s narrative from one of apprentices and house helps to one that produces global innovators.

Tourism
Anioma said the government plans to attract at least 3 million visitors to Enugu every year through attractions such as a zip line at the Ngwo Pine Forest, a canopy walkway at the Nsude Pyramid, alongside other projects going on in Enugu State. He estimated that each visitor would spend at least ₦100,000 on hotels, food and other services, which he said would revive the state’s economy.

Roads and security
He said the dualisation of the Opi–Nsukka road would be completed before Christmas. He added that other roads in the urban and rural areas, slowed by the rainy season, would resume as the rains abate, so that residents travelling home at the end of the year would find motorable roads.
On security, Anioma said the governor would continue to strengthen the measures in place, with zero tolerance for criminality.
He described Mbah as “capable and ready to do even more.”
